Clarks Blog_Casper-27

For a period of one month I gained work experience at the company Clarks.  Most of the time I’ve worked independently on my own project within the team of existing technical specialist. Together we worked on sub-problems concerning the shoe design process. Halfway this work experience I presented my research and ideas to the head of the design team. As a result of the research I’ve worked on three different projects.

The first project was mainly focused on the material and the main question was : how to create an economical shoe without using glue and limiting the waste of the material during the process. For this project I’ve used the 3D printing technique in combination with cutting out the patterns for the shoe. By folding the material the shoe get it’s construction and shape. The design principle that is born from this process offers numerous possibilities for different designs.
